Felicity Huffman Takes the Cake

I just hope Felicity Huffman never does a google search for her name. I've got nothing at all against her myself.:)

Another stream-of-consciousness, courtesy of Ahmad!

********

Felicity Huffman takes the cake for being the most elitist piece of shit there is in this country. Nay, the world. Felicity Huffman takes the cake and eats it too. She baked the cake, scoured for the ingredients, glazed it, and devoured it all on her own. What's in it for us? Nothing. She wanted to make a cake so she could tell us how great of a person she was. Felicity Huffman go back to your white ivory tower. Felicity Huffman go back to your cave of allegorys. Fellicity Huffman no more!

It takes the strength of two men to make something as great as one of mine. Felicity Huffman scoffed. I could make anything I pleas. I meant to say please. I just don't want to. I'd rather do my nails.

Today is not the day to make such things clear, but then again, let's just drop this shall we?

Felicity Huffman shall be who she is, and do as she does. But what about us? The mouse men of Iftum. We care no longer for the vain spellings of a bored housewife. We care no longer for the squalors of man himself. We shall rule the world in an instant, and with a puff, they did. They had invaded the realms of the spirit and the soul to induce a trance into man's deepest desires.

The mice! The mice! The mice man cometh!

He's taking he's taking your soul.

If I asked you a question, what would you answer?

Nay! I would not answer! I would do as the mice men say!

Nay! I would not answer! I would do as the mice men say!

It's not okay to be kind to yourself if it leads to misery. And how shall you know? Well, that question is left unanswered. So do as you please.

Gratuitous acts of kindness are the milk of the soul. The soul of man is in an instant carried away in great cars of grape vehicles into something beyond life itself.

Life itself has no recourse but to create itself.

Life will not create anything until you have done your hair.

It's supper time, ma'am. Ma'am, would you like some tea?

Nay!

Rainbow Pod Thingie

This is a design that I've been puttering around with, and the colors aren't really showing true here, but you get the general idea. It's still lopsided though because I don't know how to make things symmetrical. Oh well.:)

Weighted Companion Cube, We Love You

Trisha, who is clearly way better at photographing stuff than any of the rest of us, made this amazing keychain based on the cube from the game Portal. And in case you were wondering how eerily accurate this is? Here's what it's based on.

Farce--Jumping Off a Bridge

Charming. Simple. Elegant. Cats.

This stream of consciousness by Ahmad contains one of my favorite paragraphs of all time (the second one, in case you couldn't tell). Narfus, people. N-A-R-F-U-S.

********
There were two birds, one named Flynn and the other named Robert. These birds didn't know what in the world to do with themselves, so they just chirped along, forever and ever. Until one asked the question: Why? Why chirp? Well, there's really not much else I can do, I mean - I'm a bird. That's what birds do. But what if there was something else I could do? Flutter? Sing? Cry? Dance? What does it mean to dance? It's a confusing mess of dialogue, is what it is. I don't want to think anymore. I want to be a bird. I want to chirp.

There was a lion and a smaller cat, a feline, just prowling through a make-believe forest called Narfus. They didn't exist. Neither of them did. But they had fun, nonetheless. Neither of them made a fuss. They didn't have to eat. They didn't have to do anything. It was charming. Simple. Elegant. Cats.

Cats the musical is the type of gameshow that you'll not want to put down, except to have to go to the bathroom. And the bathroom is not a place you'd like to visit. It is a place of harmony of the lower regions of the world.

String of Cranes

Tedd has been making origami cranes out of differently colored/sized paper, and I have been stringing them as he makes them. Here are a few low-quality shots.:) (thing I need most = a new camera).

Apathy and Sunlight

Stream of Consciousness by me--I can't really write commentary for myself, so here it is:)

********

I had another sip of Kool-aid. I took a drag from my cigarette. I was not impressed with your depth or savoir faire. I have heard all of this before. I keep twelve white birds, I let them fly and they always return. They drink cream from my hands like cats; they wash their feathers with pink tongues and mimic your laughter uncannily. They are better company than you, more faithful and more intelligent by bounds and bounds. Coated in a soft light, they fly ships to moon and stars, they oar through milky streams with wings of ivory.

Take a photo; this is all that you get. You will not see me look back, I am covered in angora, I am covered in blood, I am missing teeth, I am whole. Bells are tinging, lights are hovering overhead. I am apathy and sunlight.

Superhero Kitchen Lady!

This is a figure Tedd made from Sculpey--I have basically NO close-up capability and really crappy lighting, so there's no way I can do this figure justice. But he's been doing a series of very simple, faceless action figures lately, and this is one I requested. She has a silver ladle!! And she can fly!!

Gadzooks!

Stream of Consciousness by Ahmad--I am noticing that there is a running theme in these of attempted communication, repeatedly thwarted. This sort of reaching out and then not being satisfied with the result and ultimately giving up the effort.

********

Bombs away! The children hesitant to live down by the sea took stead up near the river instead. Go forth and take this rod of casting and limitless joy to spread to the gorge of women. Has it been so far as to mean something to you? Have you talked to the landlord or the butler about that issue of yours that you had. The one where you... yeah. You know the one. No I won't say it outloud because, you know, I'd rather not say. Is it okay if you come some other day? Go away.

Have you talked to us about your recent condition where you had your spinal fluid turned into juice that reckoned above the top of the stairs. To answer yes is a crime, and to answer no would be reckless. So don't answer at all. Just remain silent. Silent as a child who has had his heart broken with the fervor of a thousand steed.

Haha. I was totally kidding. you don't have to do that at all, no, it's okay.

Disappeared, With One "P"

Another stream of consciousness by Ahmad--I have a backlog of these sitting around on my computer, so I'll be posting quite a few of them over the next couple of days, but you won't get tired of it because they're just that good.:)

********

Let me think for a second about the monkeys and the bears and the elephants who stand behind bars. To witness their suffering is to witness the Truth of where to begin when the land is foraged in spite of it's suffering.

You are a fairy wrapped in glitter taken to the back of the shop and beaten till your teeth have avenged you and disappeared with the children. That is what you are and do not forget it. Do not know what happened today, because it won't be happening again. I'll tell you what you want to hear. You will never have to fear again, what is said.

Free Limit

"I'd love to show you everything that I consider special and beautiful to myself and yourself..."

The utter attempt and collapse of communication in the second paragraph of this one gets me every time.

Another stream-of-consciousness from Ahmad!

********

Horse feathers and duck feet were the recipes of two rounds of featuring plotlines. How could you have known what was to come, or what was to be, when either one was free. It is naught to ponder but to reflect and many more have come in fact. Together we shall dance the night away but to steal itself in ways more often than you can count yourself.

Hi. My name is Iza. I'd like to show you my home. GREAT, would you come in please? I'd love to show you everything that i consider special and beautiful to myself and yourself. How could you have known. How could you have known. How could you have known. What today brings is something special and how could you have known how could you have known it's too late. Goodbye.

Jelly-filled Beans

This is part of a stream-of-consciousness project that my friend Ahmad and I have both been working on. The goal is..well, the goal is multi-pronged I guess, so it's really lots of tinier little goals--I don't think either of us expects to create some brilliant full-on short story in 5-10 minutes of free writing. But it gets us writing again, and it's a place to sift for grains of ideas, new words, new concepts, unfleshed characters, voices. Mainly, it gets us writing again.:)

In this one, by Ahmad, I love the words "fisk" and "dumpkin" and I absolutely love the double Howevers. Ho! Harken to your miserable tales..

********

Hours long gone to the dusk of the heart and soul of Giraffes. Hairy sue had a child named Blue and wished him luck together they grew. Forty four men shared the gruesome glory of a world gone by. A world gone to the hand of the rafts of freud. Fisk me upon your silhouetted mask of lies. Today is not the day to fret upon such trivialities but to bask in the glory of ukelele sounds and dumpkin hearts. Ho! Harken to your miserable tales of minced travel in stead.

However. However, it is said that the wings of man have travelled far upon release of wholeness.

Oh, The Places We'll Go!

This blog title is based on a quote from Dr. Seuss's Oh, The Places You'll Go!:

"...Waiting for the fish to bite, or waiting for wind to fly a kite, or waiting around for Friday night, or waiting, perhaps, for their Uncle Jake or a pot to boil, or a Better Break or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants, or a wig with curls, or Another Chance. Everyone is just waiting."

But oh, the places we'll go if we DON'T wait. The miracle kites we will fly. So here's me and my friends seizing the goddamn day and blogging our writings and drawings and photos and every blessed wonderful thing we make, every blessed day. Hooray for today, right?

Right.

Let us begin.
